Alas, the Madonna does not function
Last night, [info]tjcrowley gave me a copy of a new book called The Goth Bible, just published this month by St. Martin's Press, no less. Looks like a well-researched and presented work, though of course subject to the sensibilities and perceptions of its author. But what floored me is that my music site gets top billing on the list of web links at the end of chapter 5, which is all about goth music. It's also a bit embarrassing, as I haven't posted any updates to the site in two years, though I do have a brand-new (and much more current) replacement site in the works. But still, how cool is that?

despite the lack of updates, your site remains by far the best of its kind on the web. everytime i have any research to do, i wind up back there.

I actually posted a recent development about this book on my own blog, if you haven't read it.

http://www.livejournal.com/users/tjcrowley/197337.html

It seems like at first B&N wouldn't carry it except in CA and NY because they were afraid that "goths would just steal it" and it almost didn't get published because of this. But evidently, they reversed that decision because my spies (I mean, people on my friends list) report back that it's on sale in B&N in Maryland and Louisiana.

Whatever. People should buy it from an independant bookstore anyway, if they really want to buy it.

It's because your site has been up for ever and all the search pages have it listed on top. I've looked at that page many times in the years it has been up. Do you look at the Top Sample list site? It was one I would look at a lot too but it's gone now, and may not come back.
